SVSi Introduces Software Viewer for their voLANte Video-Over-Ethernet Distribution System

Madison, Ala. (PRWEB) June 17, 2009 -- Southern Vision Systems, Inc. (SVSi) has expanded the voLANte product line to enable extremely cost effective distribution of high quality streaming video in applications where a host laptop, PC, or media player is already present. The voLANte Viewer is a software application that runs on a host computer connected to a voLANte video network. The Viewer software replaces the voLANte VRR104 hardware receiver and displays high quality video on the host display. A mix of hardware receivers and software Viewers can be used on any voLANte video network.

Using the JPEG2000 industry standard for broadcast quality video, Viewer supports any voLANte resolution from 640x480 to 1080p but is optimized for 640x480 video at 30-Hz on a standard laptop or desktop PC. Ideal for classrooms, training rooms, or corporate desktop presentations, voLANte Viewer is a cost-effective way of presenting high-quality live streaming video to multiple destinations. There is no limit to the number of instances of Viewer running on a given video network and different clients can access different video streams at the same time. The name, date, and time of each video channel broadcast can be shown in the playlist simplifying user access. Viewer also supports voLANte's powerful EMCast emergency messaging and its HostPlay stored-content presentation.
